ExerBent.com Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How quickly and easily can I lose weight?

A: There's nothing particularly quick or easy about using daily vigorous exercise as a method for losing weight, but it will work for you in the long run provided you also improve your eating habits. As an approximate goal, if you are very overweight, you could initially expect to lose about a pound a week (up to 50 pounds per year). My feeling is that losing weight faster may not be particularly healthy. Please see this disclaimer.

Q: Why exerbents? Why not other exercise equipment?

A: Because exerbents have worked for me long-term where other exercise equipment hasn't. See the "All About ExerBents" page for more info.

------

Q: For a more balanced workout, shouldn't you also add other things like lifting weights and doing situps?

A: Yes. But these other items will come in time. It's very important that you get going with some aerobic exercise such as exerbent spinning to start burning some of that fat and lowering your blood sugar!

------

Q: Can you combine a program of exerbent exercise with a diet plan?

A: Absolutely. I don't like that four-letter "d" word myself as it tends not to work for me, but any diet plan that will not cause you abandon workouts is great.

------

Q: What about combining dieting and exercise with diet pills?

A: I'm not a physician and I therefore will not recommend or recommend against using diet pills, but I don't particularly think diet pills work nor that they're good for us. Please see this disclaimer.

------

Q: Won't so much leg-oriented exercise give me freakishly large and muscular legs?

A: No! After 14 months at an hour a day (about 6 days a week), my legs are leaner and have better-defined musculature, but I'm no Mr. Universe. Still, after you've gotten into a daily aerobic exercise groove, you'll eventually want to add upper-body exercising for balance as well.
